Dial E for Everita

Cofounded by Dr. Peter Trevellick and Stephen Jayna, Everita was launched in March of 2004. Everita is a privately held organically grown company that began life engineering bespoke software for academic publishers.

Building on its experience Everita now offers specialist expertise to companies looking to scale their LAMP based websites. We've also produced “software art” for leading art and design practices, including the acclaimed Newton Virus.

What's with the name?

It's surprisingly tricky to come up with a name that is memorable yet professional, distinguished but not grandiose, and has its domain name available. Veritas was the goddess of truth, a daughter of Saturn and the mother of Virtue.

Truth, an excellent foundation on which to build a company wouldn't you say? Even so we felt it needed something extra. Something to set us apart from the hoi polloi. Something to add a little razzamataz. How about adding an “E” and dropping that rather superfluous looking “S” we thought? Yes, electronic truth, marvellous.
